Your Personal Brand

Growing your personal brand can be accomplished on several different platforms and websites. Examples include Hip-Hop Artists, Twitter Celebrities, and YouTubers.

XXXTentacion (Rapper)

Hip-Hop Artists - This "New-Era" of rappers literally pop up out of nowhere into the mainstream, mainly because of Social Media platforms like SoundCloud. Their music may attract fans, but it's the way they portray themselves (or brand) in the media that really allows them to become universally known.

Twitter Celebrities - These "celebrities" became famous from viral videos or other controversial media. An example of a girl who became known from a viral video is the "Cash Me Outside" girl. Here is a link to the video - www.youtube.com/watch?v=G4v7pgkOL6g
She immediately gained media attention and her social media accounts blew up. Her personal brand is nowhere near appropriate, but that is what drives attention to her.

YouTubers - A great example of a YouTube personality is the one and only PewDiePie. Recently, he has been featured in The Wall Street Journal for his alleged Anti-Semitic views. His personal brand was deliberately attacked and this example goes to show how the media can create and destroy the lives of celebrities. Even with these attacks, this YouTuber still rakes in almost 14 million dollars a year...yes, you heard that right.
